Danilo was born in Salvador (Brazil), in 1990. He graduated in chemistry from the University Of Bahia (UFBA). In 2014, he obtained his master degree working on enantioselective Heck-Matsuda arylations under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Roque Duarte Correia at the University Of Campinas (UNICAMP). In 2015, he joined the Chemistry PhD program at Heidelberg University, where he developed his thesis working on Gold-catalyzed synthetic methods under the supervision of Prof. A. Stephen K. Hashmi and with an additional training at the Group of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry of Prof. Andreas Dreuw (IWR – Heidelberg).
In February 2019, he joined the group of Prof. Paolo Melchiorre as a post-doctoral researcher. In his spare time Danilo likes listening to music, traveling, photography and politics, besides hanging out with friends and appreciating a nice beer
