A stable iron(III) complex with the cross-bridged cyclam 4,11-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazabicyclo[6.6.2]hexadecane catalyzes the epoxidation of aromatic alkenes and the fixation of CO2 into cyclic carbonates. Best results were obtained for styrene conversion to styrene carbonate. An iron(III) complex with a cross-bridged cyclam ligand catalyzes the epoxidation of aromatic alkenes and the fixation of CO2 into cyclic carbonates. The one-pot or stepwise transformation of styrene to styrene carbonate was also achieved (15-24 % GC yield).
